Chelsa Flower Show - 2006 Edition

Rock-Unique was present at Chelsea Flower Show 2006 and made a very good impression. Take a look at our representations.

Chloe Salt : Reflective Height - Gold Medal Winner

Parquet , this time in honed grey sandstone, is used to provide a contemporary edge to this year round garden. The contrast in the stone is highlighted by the strip design, the natural swirls and ripples of darker tones leave the slight impression of woodgrain in the mind alongside the modern feel of honed stone in this tranquil scene.
Grey Sandstone is moderately hard with predominately grey coloration. Ranging from light to mid grey with banding of darker tones, this sandstone also has occasional rusty coloration in areas and spots that provide greater interest. Also available as standard tiles.

Designed and built by Chloe Salt,
Jeremy Salt & Roger Bullock of Henley-Salt.

Sotherbys trade stand - Silver Medal Winner

Designed in-house at Sotherbys to show a sample of both their contemporary and antique garden statuary and furniture. The objective was to create a relatively simple but clearly natural backdrop for this desirable collection of new and old objects d'art for the garden. Wheat sandstone is richly coloured with yellows, tans and mellow orangey tones. Occasional pieces are detailed with dramatic dark brown swirls for added interest. The warm colours lend a summer like softness to the ambiance of any setting.

Deisgned by Mark Blan; built band planted by
Andy Sturgeon. Stone supplied by Rock Unique.

Barry Holdsworth & Rock Unique - Bronze Medal Winner
The parquet used in our city roof garden "Picture this" was produced for Chelsea in 150mm wide strips of varying lengths. The parquet shows off to advantage the elegance of porphyry and the wonderful variation occurring from piece to piece. Porphyry is a low porosity stone that offers excellent slip resistance. The black slate backdrops and planters emphasize the contemporary feel of this garden. A fusion of concept, design and materials between Barry Holdsworth and Rock Unique. The "Picture This" garden was constructed offsite and precisely reassembled by Nick Edser and his crew from Langdale Landscapes.

Black slate, in this case cut from large slabs, is a versatile tought material useful both inside and out.
